Forest Lyuuban Reference

Description

For those of you who aren't sure what a Lyuuban is, see here: NEW AND IMPROVED Lyuuban Reference

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnndddddddd the last of my Lyuuban species references is finally here; all the colonies now have a reference! *passes out*

Now, I bet you're wondering why they're called "forest" Lyuubans. After all, forests are land habitats and Lyuubans are ocean-dwellers, right? Well, believe it or not, they actually do reside in underwater forests - of giant seaweed! If you've seen pictures or videos of California's kelp forests, you should have a good idea of what the forest colony Lyuubans' habitat is like. The waters are generally cooler and cloudier than those of the reef colonies' territories, but food and shelter are just as plentiful.

Forest Lyuubans are similar in temperament to reef Lyuubans, and are generally friendly toward land dwellers. If you look closely at the two featured here, you will see faint patches of tiny spots on their bodies. This is a trait unique to forest Lyuubans, and these spots tend to appear around the joints, but they are also found on the thighs, buttocks, and feet. You may also notice some flaps, one set on males and two sets on females, located at the base of each tail fin, another trait only forest Lyuubans have.

Want to know more? Just ask.
